• Cadman Park Plaza

In the late 1990s, the city (or was it the federal government?) took part of Cadman Park Plaza and bulldozed it, essentially turning it into a parking lot. It was promised to be given back when the larger courthouse was built with a much larger parking garage. Well, that seems to finally happened so does, anyone know when or if this is still going to be given back? I will admit, all my information above is from memory and reading about the process in the local papers. But I remember specifically noting that thought in my head that the amount of Cadman Plaza they took for a parking lot was supposed to be temporary. Cadman Park Plaza is in Brooklyn. The green strip just off the Brooklyn Bridge when you enter the boro (on your right) and is in front the new towering federal court house between Washington & Adams where it intersects with Tillary. The parking lot in question is adjacent to the court house. Another note: this is the court house that almost always has the big cases you will see in the news. In reporter stand ups and interviews with defendants and prosecutors, they will almost be always standing in the park or near it. One annoying thing is that in many cases, news trucks and vans will just park wherever they want all over the grass and sidewalk.

Where is Cadman Plaza ?
