Intro

This is an open space to discuss how to package/distribute/bundle Plone for environemental applications.  The initial use case that sparked the creation of this site is how communities can manage water resources following the watershed approach.

Wishlist

What do you, as a stakeholder, want a management system to let you do ?  Can we upload a diagram here or just build a table with user roles ? 

  • be able to inventory all the available data (from government/local services, from scientific sources, from citizens feedbacks)
  • be able to identify all the available expertise
  • provide collaborative mechanism to collect information (e.g. upload GPS trace to delineate a sub-basin and feed some sort of OpenBasinMap a la OpenStreetMap?) and tag it according to some quality evaluation standard
  • provide analysis/intelligence features
  • provide cartographic rendering and analysis
  • provide spatial search (by basin, sub-basin, etc.)
