    Our theme camp last year was called Astor Playa—it was on the Esplanade at
    8:15 and featured a recreation of Astor Place: from the cube to the subway
    stop to some brownstone stoops. The rest of the camp is not coming this
    year, so we can use the name if we want to rest on the laurels of my project
    from last year. The camp was 90% a tech company from NYC, so I suppose it'd
    be an appropriate addition to the Silicon Village. Plus, it has a logo:

      hey fellow burners,

      i have bad news for you all, but if it's any consolation, it's good
      news for me! i have to bail this year. i've signed up for an LSAT
      course, and then will be taking the LSAT immediately thereafter. the
      course starts on the 28th, so...

      anyway, i have one $250 burning man ticket for sale, if anyone knows
      anyone else who'd like to go.

    Alright, Darling Friends,

    The camp is all settled!

    Now that we're in, we need to get payment to them ASAP.
    - The camp fee is only $50 per person for basic tents.
    - If you have a Supertent with high-power usage (like an airconditioner),
    the fee is $70 in addition to the per person fee. I don't think this applies
    to any of us.
    - For those in the Winny, there is an additional fee for the RV, $140 on top
    of the per person fee.

    I'm going to advise 3 bundled checks based on tranport groups:
    - Alice, Yasser, Adam, Asia, Gilby, Fran, Krista, Sascha
    - Alexis, Guy, Paul, Monty, Bone,
    - Lily, Rollie, Jesse, Zoe

    Can one person from each group send a check and work out money later.
    My group, I'll write the check and we'll work out money when we deal with
    the rental cars.

    The checks go to:
    Sandi Bacon
    7675 Shadowhill Lane
    Cupertino, CA  95014

    Include a note saying you are with Le Pouf Troupe, names, emails, tent
    number and space requirements.

    Last bit, I'd advise all of you to get on the Silicon Village email list,
    especially if you still need tickets. Most of the ones they are selling are
    discounted too!
     This Yahoo site is where we have Silicon Village information:
     <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Silicon Village/>

    Lovely!

      Dear Everyone,

      Attached is the newly released camp map. We are to the top middle, Le Pouf
      Troupe, with the Hair of the Dog pod and bar.

      Also, I had to write little bios, with help from Alexis, to introduce our
      group to the leaders of Silicon Village when I was organizing with them.
      Since many of you don't know each other, I thought I'd send them along as a
      small introduction. Of course, these are fragments of the tall tales that
      could be told about each person, little nuggets of the delectable wholes.
      And, if you are inclined towards surprises, don't even dabble.

      See you all so soon on the playa!
      Much much love,
      Alice

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Le Pouf Troupe:
      Yasser (30, West Londona', partner of Alice) is an architect and aspiring
      set designer by day and a music fiend and dj by evening. He's been known to
      spin a yarn a mile long, don't be afraid to get lost in the threads. He came
      to Burning Man last year for the first time and hung out with Tomkat and
      bartended at the Hair of the Dog bar with Silicon Village.
      Alice (24 from New York via Oakland and Virginia) is an urban planner, runs
      artist salons and loves to dance. She has been known to mimic the
      biomechanics of penguins and gibbons in her choreography.
      Asia (26 from London and originally Poland) is an architect and designer who
      sells her paintings in the London streetmarkets. She is a diva with a
      particular fondness for dubstep.
      Adam (26 from London and origin. Poland), also an architect, dresses
      predominantly in polkadots and candystripes. He is a maestro of the Polish
      funk variety.
      Gilby (29 from London) edits tv shows for British channelsurfers. He is an
      encyclopedia of Japanese anime and radical hip hop. He's the spiritual
      leader for the group… in the George Clinton funk-ology.
      Fran (25 from London) teaches children to sing and dance (music and theatre
      teacher). She grew up in a hamlet, the smallest town-type in the UK, and
      brings a wide smile to the big city. Fran's energy is infectious.
      Sascha (27 from London and Germany) is an interaction design student and
      digital art blogger. His current interests run very small—nanotechnology art
      and micro-music.
      Alexis/ aka Lexicon (24 from New York and San Francisco originally)
      organizes parties and publicity events. She has recently proven her
      maven-hood on the burlesque stage and hopes to have a showing with Alice at
      BM. Alexis went to Burning Man with the Porn and Eggs camp three years ago.
      Guy (29 from London, Alexis' partner) is an entrepreneur of a little company
      called Nice Group. Guy, the quintessential Nice Guy, likes to build jalopies
      and cruise them across the Spanish landscape.
      Bone (25 from New York) is an off-broadway actor—about to break through.
      He's a beacon with his blazing red hair and tresses. Bone enjoys modern
      literature and writing.
      Krista (24 from the greater Bay area) is a playwright. Her plays inspect the
      human condition through scientific surrealism. Anaerobic respiration as a
      lens for the emotional and fantastical.
      Lily (24 from Berkeley) works with an urban planning non-profit. She's the
      coordinator for a film program on alternative transportation. Lily also
      specializes in face-painting and puppetry.
      Rollie (24 from New York and Miami originally) is a graphic designer and
      urban advocate at the same organization as Lily. He is known to bust a
      formidable move with his Latin hips. Last year, Rollie was the main
      organizer for the Astor Playa camp at BM. They constructed a replica of the
      Astor Place cube.
      Paul (33 from London) is another Nice Guy and business partner with Guy. He
      likes funny hats—sombreros, berets, tophats, you name it! He's also a
      bike-o-phile.
      Jesse and Zoe are also in our group... indescribable! invincible! infamous!
      (also new to Alexis and I)
