HINT: A good dustmask makes a *REALLY *good playa gift when you see someone in need during a dust storm.
d. Goggles -Bring two pair, Clear or yellow for nighttime, and tinted for day time. Get goggles with as little ventilation as possible, or you can cover any holes with tape. Sportsman's guide has them. NEW U.S. Military-style M44 http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=324035&pn=2 These are the best goggles for Burning Man. They are made for wind and dust protection. Very comfortable, breathable, and will fit over your prescription eyeglasses or your sunglasses. They come with two lenses: a regular clear lens and a shaded lens for sun, which are easy to switch out. These come in khaki color, which blends nicely with the playa dust.

c. Irritability
d. Urine is NOT CLEAR (unless you're taking B vitamins which turn your urine yellow)
e. Dry Sticky mouth
f. Headache
g. Dizzy or light headedness
h. If you're not urinating, you're not drinking enough water.
If you are dehydrated seek water immediately and notify someone in camp you are not feeling well. There is a Med tent in Center camp in the center of Black Rock City that is available 24 hours a day. If you are dehydrated they can help you get back to normal- it will take several hours however- so just drink water and PISS CLEAR to avoid all this.
a. Weather can change rapidly- secure your belongings and tent before leaving camp or else your tent could turn into MOOP (Matter out of Place)EXTRA, BUT SO NICE!!
b. Put your sunscreen on first thing in the morning everywhere. Ask for help applying on hard to reach spots.
c. When leaving camp bring with you: WATER, DUST MASK, GOGGLES, HAT and sunscreen/chapstick (you may get pulled off to far off places so if its in the late afternoon bring a flashlight- you might not be back for several hours)
d. Go easy on alcohol the first couple of days. Black Rock City is at 3900+ feet altitude. Hint - drinking beer in the desert is dehydrating and the altitude will make you a cheap date.
e. If you do get caught in a dust storm seek shelter anywhere nearby- a piece of art is great too… sit down and wait it out. Sort of like those violent rainstorms in NYC in May. You just can't go anywhere so you wind up talking to new people.
a. CostumesWHAT NOT TO BRING TO THE PLAYA
b. For you, for your bike, your art :ELECTROLUMINESCENT WIRE aka EL Wire:

b. MICHAEL'S TOYS http://michaelslightoys.com
c. Bringing clothing that keeps you covered from the sun if you are sun sensitive can be as easy as going to some of the markets in Brooklyn and buying an Arabian night costume- these can be extremely useful and comfortable in the desert (who would have guessed?)
d. Lights that are attachable to your clothing, like el wire are great. Try to stay away from buying glow sticks, and blinkie lights that the batteries are held on with magnets they turn into MOOP quickly
e. Welcome mat for your tent
f. Rug for inside your tent
a. New Girl friends/boyfriends who you don’t know REALLY REALLY well (the guideline is - don't start or end a relationship on the playa)
b. Feathers (they become MOOP)
c. Any costumes with beads of things that can fall off and become MOOP
d. All extra packaging should be removed before packing for the playa
e. Glass bottles (aluminum cans can be recycled at recycle camp in center camp)
Leave no Trace: Everyone is asked to never let it hit the ground and if it does please pick it up. This will make cleanup of our camp and of the city much easier. At the end of the event it is suggested that you schedule at least 2 hours of picking up MOOP around the city and campsite before we all disperse.
