Setting Up the Office:
set up extension cords, power strips, etc.
organize office supplies, obtain ones we don't have
figure out how to get the fax machine to work with the phone (which is an extension)
follow up with horticulture about getting houseplants
lighting – obtain good lamps
Flesh out and send wish list
-craigslist/freecycle: little mini-fridge, halogen lamps, couch or armchairs, rug, discoball
get maintenance to actually install a lock on the weird porthole into the other room
register all the new computer products with the manufacturers for warranties etc.
Keep track of the Info Email Account
-Form paragraph for requests for speakers, speaking fee available? Pre-purchase lit.
Distro
respond to existing orders emails (up to date as of 12/1/06)
pack and ship orders
enter recent handwritten orders into distro database on computer
-create misc. spreadsheet of non-distributor folks who ordered. (completed 12/1/06)
make specs page for inventory (pictures, descriptions, prices of distro items—to insert in outgoing orders)
contact current distributors and ask if they need more merchandise
research and order better shipping materials (padded envelopes, boxes, manila envelope)
research shipping

Volunteers
-lead volunteers in finishing painting the office
-reruit interns – specifically web admin
-volunteer database, start with spreadsheet
-Info. Sheet for prospective volunteers: “25 things you can do to help the icarus project.”
-Contact colleges re: intern for web admin. Position (collab. w/ will)
-Fridays 3-6 open office hours (maybe have things for volunteers to do)
-Painting office
