I'm working my way through the themes now. Stay tuned for results on your themes. For now, Simplicity: http://www.openplans.org/projects/ootb-plone-themes/simplicity-test-results - Veda

Great. Thanks for this. Will take a look and action where necessary. Will also add my own comments to the results page where appropriate. FYI, I did a bit of testing under XP this morning and based on what I saw in IE7, Firefox 2 and Safari 3.1 it all played nicely. As an aside a couple of the folks I showed the theme to really like it, but thought having the navigation tabs at the bottom of the page might be difficult for some users. Cheers! Hi, Thanks for this, that's very useful feedback! I do know what you mean about the navigation tabs at the bottom. I did take some liberties with the design in that I plugged in the standard Plone stuff, like the breadcrumb trail, site actions, personal bar and footer but I thought I'd stick with the original design's global navigation. I'm *reasonably* happy with this in that I think Simplicity is a basic blog-like theme with the main navigation tree appearing in the right hand column, so it can probably just about scrape by without top-level navigation tabs. Of course, if there are any other strong feelings about this I can always revisit it. Hi David! Well then for a blog theme then you are spot on. :) Most of what we are used to designing are departmental sites in higher ed and our users (and what we are used to seeing) are top (or even side) nav. Hi Sean -- yes, that's my day job too -- designing and building Zope/Plone sites for a university where I agree having the top and side navigation is absolutely key. Your comments are interesting though -- I hadn't thought that it could be potentially off-putting not having the top navigation. I'll give it some more thought. Best wishes, David 2008/4/29 Sean Semone <semone@...>: > Hi David! Dear all, Just returned from a week off, so will need to catch up on the correspondence. In the meantime, I've made Simplicity available via plone.org: http://plone.org/products/simplicity. I've never released anything on plone.org before, so hope the way I've done this is acceptable in terms of conforming to conventions etc. If anyone spots anything obvious that needs changing then please do let me know. At the moment I'm not sure if I'll be able to be involved in the next round of theming as I've got quite a lot of other commitments (studying) over the next two months. If I don't manage it then I'll definitely take part in the round after that. Cheers and best wishes, David -- David Little www.littled.net
