[TOPP trac] #2646: Allow moving wiki pages between projects
from "The Open Planning Project"on Jun 26, 2008 11:59 AM #2646: Allow moving wiki pages between projects ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Reporter: pw | Owner: egj Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: backburner | Milestone: Component: [unspecified] | Version: Keywords: | Confirmation: Blockedby: | Time_to_complete: Blocking: | ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Usage scenario: Project Foo has become successful enough that it spins off Project Babyfoo. Some of the content on Project Foo's wiki is now more appropriate for Project Babyfoo. Fixing this involves a lot of tedious clicking and hand-copying. It'd be much faster if there was UI support for moving pages between projects. One crude UI idea: The "contents" page of a project could allow you to select pages and click a "Cut" button (like the ZMI has) which could then be "pasted" into another project's contents page. The "cut" pages would not be removed until the "paste" succeeds, in the same transaction. This implies that the user must have delete permission in the source project and add permission in the target project. A smoother UI approach: instead of "Cut" there could be a "Move to another project" button. This could give you a form listing the other projects where you have permission to add content. The old pages should be automatically replaced with redirects, see ticket #1585 -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.openplans.org/openplans/ticket/2646> The Open Planning Project <http://www.openplans.org> Trac - The Open Planning Project
