 Reproduction steps:
   1. go to an archived listen list and click one of the messages
 ([http://www.openplans.org/projects/melkjug/lists/melkjug-development-
 list/archive/2008/06/1214416175337/forum_view example])
   1. now you're viewing the conversation as a "flat" list. using the UI to
 the right, choose "threaded view" and click the update button.
   1. you should be taken to the "threaded" view
 ([http://www.openplans.org/projects/melkjug/lists/melkjug-development-
 list/archive/2008/06/1214416175337/threaded_view e.g.]) but instead you
 are taken back to the flat view.
