Until we get a proper Trac instance or something, here's a list of things to do (this is Dwin's list):

Kinds of data:


Geography
 progress to goals (e.g. number of registrations collected as a percentage of the registration goal) general voter / population statistics at different levels of geography.

 specific points of interest

(like obama offices, satellite offices aka "staging locations, polling locations)

Region (counties)

High Priority

For August 1st:

  • Get NDAs for the team // Craig
  • Display region data.
  • Display county data
  • Display additional census block data.
  • Authenticate site -- one top level password.

For later:

  • More visualizations (Tim suggested a map colored by voter participation
    rather than party)
  • Performance improvements (
    • caching (done)
    • compression - JS (done)
    • compression - HTTP
  • Styling tweaks (this whole map has been designed by a couple of developers

  • # of registrations vs. eligibile voters would be very valuable, where
    would you acquire that information
    • Get data -- this looks to be precinct by precinct, pdf-only, names have changed.
      • AutoAmatically extract text from PDF
      • Manually fiure out which precinct is which.
      • ACTUALLY Craig might do a lot of this work for us. Wait for his data.

Low Priority

  • Print (to PDF)
  • IE bug fixes.
