Action plan:

  1. Rearrange and restructure content into a new information architecture .
  2. Elicit feedback from key individuals on the initial mockups by Netsight
  3. Compile feedback and make revisions to mockups
  4. Create Plone 3.0 theme based on mockups
  5. Set up copy of live plone.org site at new.plone.org  and install the new Plone 3 theme
  6. Fill in the blanks for the text describing the various markets
    1. Assign champions for each market (talk to Chris Calloway who is organizing these efforts)

Matt Hamilton from Netsight came up with these mockups for a plone.org redesign, submitted Feb. 29, 2008:
http://testbed.netsight.co.uk/plone

There are three mockup pages there:

1) The actual homepage... a few points
  - Do you think the middle section (what people are saying) works? We moved the current tabbed bit to the deeper pages as we felt it was putting too much information in front of the user at once.
  - The conference banner is smaller and in the bottom right, is this relegating it too much?  Bear in mind it will be repeated, and much bigger on the community/developer homepage.

2) The homepage with rollover for a sector e.g. Enterprise
  - We will probably put the 60-second pitch in the blue section

3) A sector page e.g. enterprise
  - More enterprise specific into and explaination
  - The key benefits taken from existing homepage tailored to sector
  - Links to case studies (eventually plone.net)

So what are your thoughts?
