Propose, Plan and Organize

We have vast tracts of sprinting space and bandwidth available from March 8-16. Feel free to plan a sprint for any time during that week! Use the #weblion IRC channel on Freenode to collaborate with remote sprinters.

To register for a sprint, click its name below, and add yourself to the list of participants.

To start a new sprint, just edit this page.

The Sprints:

Documentation

This will be from the 14th to the 16th, inclusive.

JoAnna Springsteen, organizer of the wildly successful Doc-comm Sprint at Google, will coach.

SubPlone

We'll sprint from March 14th to March 16th. The goals are...

  1. Get SubPlone working with Plone 3.
  2. Define what functionality and user interfaces we want to provide in a base SubPlone interface product.
  3. Get a shell for the product defined.

Brandon Gaddie from UofL and Darryl Noye from PSU will facilitate.

Theming

We'll sprint from March 8 to March 11. The main goal is to make it easier for people to style their sites through the web. Let people change their logo without going into the zmi for example. I also plan on extending CSSManager. Perhaps Deliverance.

Rob Porter will coach.

Faculty/Staff Directory

There's lots to do on the Faculty/Staff Directory product. We'll sprint from March 14 to March 16, inclusive. (We'll also have a sprint-in-miniature on March 8-11 for anyone who can't make the later dates.) Likely topics: moving templates to Zope 3 style views, integrating CMFBibliographyAT, and creating some extender products using archetypes.schemaextender.

Eric Steele and Erik Rose, the authors, will coach.

Calendaring
We had a BoF on the last day of the symposium to talk about needs for calendaring in Plone. Please add your name to the wiki page to express your interest.

Sprints unlikely to happen:

Multimedia

  • Jonathan Lewis hopes to defy jet-lag and update the Plone4Artists Audio and Calendar screencasts to Plone 3.
  • Nate Aune has started a multimedia topics page to suggest way to improve the Plone4Artists suite of products.

Grok Like Functionality for Plone

Grok provides RAD developement for Zope3.  Something similar be  for Plone using some of the Grok components would be nice.

Event Registration

We have been using SignupSheet in combination with the standard Event content type and have written a script to sendout reminder notices, but it only works in p2.
Would like to have those capabilities for our Plone 3 sites.
