Project organization
Zest has got some funding for an update to 3.0, so Zest will take on the coordinating role. While keeping in mind that the product ought to be generically usable, making the customer happy on time is the top priority.Zest really wants this to be a community product (it is a generally useful product!). There are some offers of help in manpower and/or money, please chime in if you want to help. Some ideas:
- Drop extra ideas+ in here if you are a current user or if you think about using it. You'll need to sign up as a team member to do so (real quick to do that here on open plans). We won't assign tasks to you or so, so feel free :-)
- Get cracking with coding. The code is in the collective. Handiest starting point is the buildout.
- Testing. Get help to install it or to see a preview and give feedback on the UI.
- UI goodness. Improve the templates.
- Translations once the code has stabilized a bit. The old realestatebroker had Dutch, English and Italian translations, those will need updating. Perhaps the poor Dutch souls doing a lot of the coding will need a bit of feedback on the right English terms, too :-)
- Money to fund some extra features or more robust migration or just generic support.
Communication/coordination
Currently it looks like Reinout van Rees (of Zest software) will do a lot of coding and coordination on this project. During western European office hours (and sometimes late at night) you can grab him in Plone's irc channel (#plone, nick=reinout). Want to talk money? Talk to Jean-Paul Ladage.I'll set up an email list here on open plans.
