i'm afraid i haven't looked at SampleRemember at all, myself.  i'd like to 
take a look, and get it to a point where it works smoothly out of the box for 
folks to use, but i don't know when i'll get the time to do this.  any of the 
folks who've worked on it out there and listening?

just out of curiosity, being new to Plone, what has motivated you to try 
remember, and to use SampleRemember as your default member type?
