Rolling Alpha 2!

from "Derek Richardson" on Oct 21, 2007 08:38 PM
Matthew Wilkes got the '@@' out of feed urls! And I, doing my little bit,
added support for an optional 'published url' to support feedburner and
other rerouting of links to feeds. That means we're ready to roll a second
alpha!

I have a plone 3.0.2 site going into user test on Thursday. I plan to put
Vice in it, so we can see the rubber meet the road! That means I'll be
cutting an alpha 2 tag of Vice on Wednesday at the latest. This means two
things:

1: If you want anything in alpha 2, ya better hurry up!

2: DON'T BREAK THE TRUNK!

As you've seen, we cut alpha 1 tags last week. As I am waiting on my commit
paperwork and can't push the plone.app.syndication.outbound egg to
cheeseshop until I do, for now we'll just tag releases and people can svn co
and either use the develop-eggs or build their own eggs. As soon as commit
paperwork goes through, I'll be moving p.a.s.o to the plone repository (from
the collective) and releasing to cheeseshop. So, if you don't have commit
rights, I *strongly* encourage you to get them. It's not hard at all,
unless, like me, you've got to get a legal dept to sign off on them. ;)

Thanks to everyone, from BBQ sprint onwards, for the hard work - things will
be paying off *very* soon!

Derek
