Hello Oliver and all. I don't get what is the issue with the theme. Since I'm the person who did the theme I can tell that the theme should not be distributed under any other license except public one. I think it's fair since nobody payed for this and it was the work done for the community, not for any particular company. Could you please explain your words "you have the right to use the theme (when Lovely Systems has paid for the license)". Do you mean design license? Please explain, since theme is a community product. I thought that we ALL work with community product here. I had no idea that the design is commercial here. All I would like in case we allow this theme to be installed on any other site - keep original information about original project and people involved here. And of course authors information for theme and design. It would be fair in my opinion. -----Original Message----- From: Oliver Ruhm <oliver@...> Sent: 29. mars 2008 19:35 To: zorg-redux@... Subject: Re: [Zope.org Redux] Using the new Zope.org theme for zope.de Hi there, in terms of design license I am cool with the following: I will do the design adaptions, since you have the right to use the theme (when Lovely Systems has paid for the license) but not to resell or alternate it. This is standard procedure for handling intellectual property. In a normal case, dzug would be charged with a license fee. Because with you everything is open source and stuff, i will just charge for the design adaptions and give the license for free. i need to see and check the current theme, before anyone gives it anyone, ok? it is not yours, yet. and it is not finished. i am sure that you, as professionals, understand that. oliver On Mar 29, 2008, at 7:05 PM, Martin Aspeli wrote: > Jan Ulrich Hasecke wrote: [The entire original message is not included]

Hi again, I have been hired by Lovely Systems to do a redesign of Zope.org. I get paid for this. The design is licensed to be used for this website, after Lovely Systems pays my bill. It is that easy. I think we need Jodok for his opinion, and please let's stay relaxed. After all, I don't ask for anything that is totally absurd. I just want to ensure integrity and quality. Have a nice weekend! It is that easy. yes. more that a year ago zope.org sucked - it still sucks :) lovely volunteered to pay for it - the design, the implementation adding content, doing some marketing material. luckily a community effort helped with implementation (well let's say 75% completion right now (because of missing content to design)) - and hopefully we'll get in some content on community basis as well. so - yes. we'll pay for the design of it. and yes - oliver agreed that the design can be used for zope.org, if he get's payed for the modifications that need to be done. i totally support this. i also promised that oliver will get some credit in the footer of the page. because of these things we don't need to pay the total amount of money (but a part - in non money value) for the design. > I think we need Jodok for his opinion, and please let's stay relaxed. > > After all, I don't ask for anything that is totally absurd. I just > want to ensure integrity and quality. right. dzug also communicated that they like the work of oliver very much and would like to contract him as well. in parallel we'll try to find a solution where e.g. the zope foundation pays some extra money and design is totally free. we haven't talked about that in the zf board meeting so far, as i'd like to present more than just a beta implementation without any content. jodok > > > Have a nice weekend! > > Oliver Ruhm > +43 664 434 7654 > > www.wz-bfg.com > > Am Mar 29, 2008 um 9:51 PM schrieb Denis Mishunov <denis.mishunoff@... > >: > >> Hello Oliver and all. >> >> I don't get what is the issue with the theme.
