  • projects using zope

    Hi,

I think there should be a place on the site to introduce all the projects that
are built with zope. I mean the finished products targeted to end-users, not
    components.
It's important to give an answer to visitors that ask "tell me what can be done
with zope". There is already a small paragraph in the home page, but this should
be presented in a separate rubric, with a main menu entry.

    1) the major products such as Plone, Schooltool, etc.

    2) other open-source standalone products that can be downloaded and installed in
    an easy way.

    3) websites powered by zope, companies using zope, etc.

    Maybe we can have
    - zope.org/projects : for zope2, zope3, zodb, cmf
    - add zope.org/products : for plone, silva, schooltool, etc.

To avoid confusion between "products" and "project", could we also rename
    "projects" to "subprojects"?

Agree. I suggest this is something we link from the main page. I'd
rather not have a new top-level section for it.

I think this would be a bit confusing. These are not products
maintained by the Zope community/foundation. I think it's better to
have them presented as "Powered by Zope" qualifications.

I'm not sure I like this, personally - it's longer, and it implies
that "Zope" is a singular project which arguably it isn't.

For the time being, I'd like to keep things in the current structure,
just to focus on the main content for each project and not get
distracted by too many changes. Adding a new page and linking to it
from the front page containing things powered by Zope would be
    sensible, though.
