Hi, I started putting in some content today for the ZODB and have some comments. First: good job. I really like it and the workflow is nice enough with Plone 3. Here some comments: - The styling for "terminal output" (literal) looks nice but is very hard to read. (I think I'm not blind yet.) - I'm missing a styling that looks good when presenting those svn urls on the download page: I tried various styles and currently left it at 'literal' although I'm not happy with it. Suggestions? (See: http://zode01.lovelysystems.com/projects/zodb/downloads) - The spacing between the description and the body seems too far. For me it feels like something is missing there. - Can someone give me publishing rights? I'd like to see how the final result looks like when I'm not logged in ... - The quotes look good but are maybe a bit heavy against the normal text. I'm using them as annotations in the tutorial and find them a bit too distracting: http://zode01.lovelysystems.com/projects/zodb/tutorial Christian -- gocept gmbh & co. kg - forsterstrasse 29 - 06112 halle (saale) - germany www.gocept.com - ct@... - phone +49 345 122 9889 7 - fax +49 345 122 9889 1 - zope and plone consulting and development

Thanks for the input, Christian! > - The styling for "terminal output" (literal) looks nice but is very hard to > read. (I think I'm not blind yet.) It looks OK to me, but maybe it gets a bit too low-contrast near the lighter end of the gradient? Would it be OK with more contrast? > - I'm missing a styling that looks good when presenting those svn urls on the > download page: I tried various styles and currently left it at 'literal' > although I'm not happy with it. Sure. :) I'll do this. > - The quotes look good but are maybe a bit heavy against the normal text. Denys - any chance you could look into making some visual tweaks basedon this feedback and the feedback I gave a few weeks back? Cheers, Martin

Well, the issue is this depends on the font and the actual rendering mechanism. I'm on Ubuntu 8.04 with FF3 and the font is rather slim so the color contrast becomes a large issue for me, even at the beginning. It's just hard to read. I'll attach a screenshot. (Note: I'm not finding it *that* hard to read. But if anyone should have troubles with his eyes, he's gonna have a really hard time I guess.) >> - Can someone give me publishing rights? I am impressed with the amount of your "some content" :). While I was discussing with Dirceu (didn't know you were going to do it) you jumped in and just did it. Let me know if I can help with something. Regards, Fernando

I've given a few ZODB talks in the last year and have some slides to extract this from. ;) > While I was discussing with Dirceu (didn't know you were going to do it) you > jumped in and just did it. Let me know if I can help with something. Sure, read it and tell me if you find anything wrong or hard to understand. (Please don't fix it inline, or tell me and fix it. I can't notice otherwise.) Also, I don't have all the content for the documentation structure that I created, but I'll throw in some stuff. I figured that the storage pages could be somewhat similar in structure, to allow easy comparison of storage features and details. Some points should be the same everywhere: - general explanation - a quick feature chart - configuration options - performance characteristics - maintenance chores Christian -- gocept gmbh & co. kg - forsterstrasse 29 - 06112 halle (saale) - germany www.gocept.com - ct@... - phone +49 345 122 9889 7 - fax +49 345 122 9889 1 - zope and plone consulting and development
