ATVocabularyManager is a central pluggable vocabulary library for use with Archetypes based product. It supports flat, hierachical and VDEX based vocabularies.

It's quite heavy to use Archetypes objects for the vocabulary entries. The preferred route would be to use something lighter weight using Zope 3 component architecture.
