Katie Walls
Katie Walls is the Communications Director at Open Plans. She works closely with the communications team to ensure Open Plans’ messaging is compelling, strategic, and effective.
Katie’s background includes experience in community organizing, policy and research, and progressive political campaigns. She has a PhD in English and has published work about storytelling as a lens to explore cultural trauma. This eclectic background informs her labor and values.
When she’s not working with her colleagues at Open Plans to make NYC streets safer and more equitable, Katie enjoys reading, ballet, and rugby. She is always organizing.
