Curbside Bar Crawl
On Curbside Restaurant Week, Join Open Plans and Untapped New York for a Curbside Bar Crawl through three participating restaurants in Park Slope! Sample bites, meet the people behind the plates, and celebrate how these establishments have turned asphalt into inviting community spaces.
Five years ago, curbside streeteries revolutionized the way New Yorkers dine outside.
But today, the popular program has become far too restrictive, causing the vast majority of curbside options to vanish. There are 90% fewer curbside dining options than there were at the program’s peak. Owners and diners alike have spoken—the best version of curbside dining is year round, simple, straightforward, and prioritizes people over parked cars.
Open Plans is on a mission to improve our curbside dining program by:
Allowing curbside spots to be used year round
Simplifying the fee structure so it’s not prohibitive for small businesses
Making design guidelines that are flexible, helpful, and fun
Allowing for local input without delaying it or blocking progress
Making the application clearer and simpler for businesses and DOT
Encouraging the program to grow and thrive, especially in underserved neighborhoods

The majority of our partner restaurants are offering these special deals to guests seated outdoors. We encourage you to enjoy curbside dining, as that’s where the deals will typically be available.
